Structure of P-loop in ATP Synthase · April 2006

This illustration serves to demonstrate the structure of the P-loop with bound adenosine diphosphate (ADP), inorganic phosphate (Pi), and Mg2+ in the β subunit active site of ATP synthase. From this lateral perspective, it is evident that key P-loop residues are placed circumferentially about the reaction center where bond formation occurs during adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthesis. This image was created using 3D software for modeling and rendering, and Photoshop for post-production.
